The Writing Process

Because I'll be leaving Sydney soon, I've been madly running around the garden, taking photos of the spring flowers as they bloom. The above pic shows the flowers from a succulent I planted years ago. This is the first year it bloomed. Probably because I remembered to water it. I had to share.

Do you have a green thumb? (I definitely don't). What are your favourite flowers?

Today I'm over at Rachna's blog, sharing my writing process for Cling to God, my debut daily devotional. Please pop on over and say hi.

Already visited her this morning!
Hope you get shots of all your flowers before you leave.

Nope, no green thumb here. The cats would eat them anyway lol

I've had to train myself to remember to water my plants now that I have a garden. It does make a difference. LOL

I have a writing thumb. Let's leave it at that. Those flowers are beautiful Lynda. Of course I'll pop in on that blog. :)

I used to have a green thumb but I've grown very careless with my gardening in the last few years. the flowers I love most are lavender for the scent and hybrid tea roses for their beauty (even though they make me sneeze if I bring them in the house).

The flowers are so pretty and the color is so beautiful. Will you be taking a few of your plants to your new place, Lyn?

I usually keep a garden. But this year we had a sink hole repair and I'm 6 weeks into a broken humerus. No garden this year.

I saw that you'd already visited Rachna. You are a machine!! And yes, I've been photo crazy, making sure I get shots of everything.

My cat used to sit on my flowers...

I know, right. Crazy concept that water actually helps the garden. I keep forgetting.

Lynda R Young as Elle Cardy said...

Yep, that sounds familiar.

Thanks so much, Holly

Thanks, Sheena-kay! A "writing-thumb." I love it!

Oh I love lavender too. I can actually grow it and it still flowers despite my neglect.

Just the one indoor plant that's doing really well.

Yikes, I can understand why there would be no garden this year. Hope your arm heals quickly.

Hi Lynda, I like heather's because they're good year all rounders. These plants don't bald when the Winter months settle in and flower periodically throughout the year. It has to be said some are dull chaps and others aren't so. My personal favorites are the golden ones which I have planted all over the garden.

I love plants that flower throughout the year. Most of my plants only flower in the spring and not for very long.

Gorgeous flowers!

Despite growing up with parents who lovingly tended flower gardens and harvested fresh vegetables for summer suppers, I have zero ability to keep plants alive. I blame this on the fact that my only interactions with said gardens (other than enjoying the vegetables) were to shovel manure or pull weeds.

My husband, on the other hand, does quite well at gardening. Sadly, he hasn't had a garden since we moved to Tucson and we decided not to waste too much water on growing vegetation in the desert. But if I could, I'd have a whole yard full of sunflowers.

is it easier or tougher to grow plants there, due to the climate? Peonies and tulips are my fave.

I love that vivid lilac color! I'm off to Rachna's now...

Beautiful pic of the flowers. Said hi on the other blog too. Purple is my fave color.

Hi Lyn! My favourite flowers are those that are easy to grow and don't die on me with lavender being the exception. I've had some success, but it's hard growing anything at the beach!

Looking forward to posting your post on Wednesday!

Denise :-)

Sunflowers are gorgeous.

The natives are, of course, easier to grow because they are hardier. One just has to remember to weed and water.

Thanks, Lexa

Purple is my favourite colour too.

Yeah, anything grown at the beach needs to be salt-resistant. And the salt-resistant ones aren't delicate and pretty. Or few are, at least.

Beautiful blooms! We are in the fall, rainy season here, so I'm just trimming. I don't think I have a green thumb, but I do have plants that like taking over any green space.

Very informative. Thank you!

Everything is dead here. There are no flowers. I'm trying to envision what my gardens look like in spring and summer. Can't! But I should add that there is no snow! Very pretty blooms, Lynda.

Lol, that watering thing works wonders;) I definitely love gardening - growing things is almost on par with writing for me:)

They look lovely! You must have a bit of a green thumb.
