Happy Halloween

This is just a short, prescheduled post to say

Happy Halloween
Everyone!

I won't be around today because Jury Duty finally caught up with me and I have to head into the Supreme Court to find out whether or not they want me for a trial. I've been on call for the last three weeks with last minute calls to say they didn't need me. It's been difficult to plan anything. I have no idea how long I'll be gone for if I am picked.

UPDATE: I was dismissed from Jury duty. Probably a good thing since it was a murder trial with some grisly details. Ew. I now have time to take part in NaNoWriMo (50k words in 30 days)

Happy News: On Wednesday I will be rolling out the red carpet for Alex J. Cavanaugh. He will be doing a guest post here to coincide with the Insecure Writers' Group. Be sure to pop in and give him your support. Also, if you have signed up for the group, don't forget to write up your own Insecure Writers' Group post this Wednesday.

Happy Halloween! Hopefully you won't get picked for a big trial, though if it was a juicy one you might have some good fodder for a story. :)

I did jury duty a few years back. Lucky me only got a 3-day trial. Could have been on the 8 week one that was starting!!

I kind of want to do jury duty once. I think it would be an interesting life experience that could be useful to a writer. I was called once, but happened to be out of the country at the time.

Thanks so much for all your well wishes. I was eventually dismissed from the case. It was a murder trial with some icky details, so it's probably a good thing. I would like to get picked one day, but now I'm free for NaNo!! Woot!

Dezzy asked what I cooked with those pumpkins. They were baby pumpkins so I stuffed them with cous cous and herbs and other yummy things like finely chopped onion, tomato, dried apricots and nuts and baked it up in a moderate oven. Delish!

Happy Halloween! And good luck with jury duty-- it stinks that it's been playing with your life for three weeks.

Interesting about the Insecure Writers group which I have not signed up for, but I am feeling terribly insecure about this coming Wednesday's Book post. I haven't read epic books in a long time, much less written about them and I just wrote about one last week and now another one is lurking on my horizon. Of course I don't have to do this, but something is pushing me from within. Perhaps to help me get over that insecurity. Oh, well, happy Halloween.

Jury duty! Yikes! I hope it doesn't take too long. You should at least get some Halloween candy for your trouble :)

Good luck with jury duty, and I hope you had a wonderful Halloween!

Good luck, Lynda, with the jury duty.

NOTHING worse than jury duty. Glad you were dismissed!

I bet you are glad to be off the jury. I think it would be interesting but they would never pick a lawyer. If you had to serve at least a murder trial would not be boring. I will be back tomorrow to check out your post with Alwx. He is one of my favorite bloggers

I'm glad you were dismissed from jury duty! That's definitely a Halloween treat--especially since it was a murder trial. Yikes!
