For the April A-Z Challenge I've written a short list of the good habits of successful writers. You can read it over at the Insecure Writer's Support Group.
Thanks: I recently won a kindle edition of Melting the Ice Queen's Heart. A big thanks to Amy Ruttan, the author, and to Nas Dean at Romance Book Haven. I'm looking forward to reading it.
Project update: As some of you know, I've taken on a huge non-writing project while I'm still writing. I'm not ready to say exactly what this project is until I have something to show for it. However, I'm still super excited, I'm learning heaps, and I'm re-learning heaps more. I'm sorry I haven't been around as much. I hope you'll all understand. I'm still popping around when I can, though.
What have you been up to recently? Has the A-Z challenge kept you busy?
I hope to see you over at the IWSG to check out the good habits of successful writers.
Really curious about the project. A gaming project?
ReplyDeleteAh, you know me too well! ;)
DeleteSounds like the project is fun and challenging. Hopping over to IWSG.
ReplyDeleteVery on both counts
DeleteI believe writers need to develop good habits. It would make writing much easier...
ReplyDeleteSo true!
Deletesounds exciting!
ReplyDeleteIt is!! Thanks, Dezzy.
DeleteYour project sounds very exciting. Good luck with it!
ReplyDeleteI need as much luck as I can get
DeleteCongrats on your new project!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robin
DeleteSounds like a project you are surely excited about
ReplyDeletesuper dooper excited, but it's sending me a little insane at the same time ;)
DeleteI just won something Nas's blog, too! We are lucky this month, I guess. And you have a project to look forward to. A truly happy April.
ReplyDeleteHa! Congrats to you too. I think I'll call it Awesome April.
DeletePerfect name.
DeleteI think so too... if I do say so myself ;)
DeleteGreat post today at IWSG. Can't wait to hear about your project.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan
DeleteVery, but that's the fun of it. :)
ReplyDeleteyes indeedy
DeleteDidn't enter A to Z this year, and it's good, given all the drama I went through these past few weeks.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your mystery project. :-)
Yikes. It sometimes happens that way. Wishing you less drama and more smooth sailing.
DeleteOoh, I'm curious about this project. And I'll hop over and check out your other post now. Maybe I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong. :P
ReplyDeleteI should've added a point about being patient ;)
DeleteI'm a wee bit envious. A-Z is very demanding, and I'm wondering if it's worth it. Plus, I'd love learning new things on a non-writing project! Have a great time and I can't wait until you share with us. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's why I didn't do a full A-Z this year. It IS very demanding. Lots of fun too though.
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I'm neither a ghost believer nor a debunker. I just enjoy tales of the supernatural ever since I was a kid and watched Twilight Zone and Night Gallery. :)
DeleteI LOVED the Twilight Zone--both the old black and white reruns and the more 'recent' colour version. I don't think I ever got to see the Night Gallery though.
DeleteMy head is spinning trying to keep up with everyones A-Z!
ReplyDeletehehehe, I know what you mean!
DeleteHi Lynda, I am eager to know what your non-writing project is. Will hop over to the IWSG site for your post on good habits of successful writers.
ReplyDeleteI will reveal all in good time! (Unless you can't wait, then shoot me an email)
DeleteHi Lynda!
ReplyDeleteI also won a book over at Nas's place! A paperback!
That mystery project sounds so exciting! Have fun!
And I like your emphasis on reading for your H-post at the IWSG site.
Writer In Transit
Congrats to you too!!
DeleteI put such an emphasis on reading because it's importance is often underestimated.
Oh, how intriguing: Your mystery project sounds ...cool!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win. I do love winning books. X

Thanks, Shah
DeleteI've been having a lot of fun with the Challenge. It certainly does keep my busy with reading blog posts and commenting on as many as I can, but I've gotten into a groove now so it doesn't take me all day. haha
ReplyDeleteGlad you've found the groove. It can take a while to find sometimes.
DeleteMy goodness, I totally understand you not being around much. I hope your non-writing project is turning out exactly how you want it, and that it showers you with cheese. =)
ReplyDeleteBrie... or an aged cheddar... or a Blue Brie!!!
DeleteThanks so much, Crystal.
Yes! How about all three.
DeleteI like your thinking
DeleteI want to know about this top secret writing project! Good luck keeping up with it all.
ReplyDeletePop me an email and I'll tell you all about it.
DeleteCongratulations on the win! And yay! For the new *top secret* project!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!!
DeleteSounds like you've got a lot of creative fun happening - that's the best!! Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteIt truly is lots of fun and challenging and awesome. All at the same time. Thanks, Jemi.
DeleteThis project sounds exciting and I can't wait to read about it.
ReplyDeleteYes, A to Z is keeping me very busy.
More busy than usual, I'm guessing
DeleteA new project? Congrats! And thank you so much for visiting!
ReplyDeleteA to Z is great! Oh, and I just finished writing a story to submit for kids, 7 to 10 years old. Will have to let it rest for a few days before I submit it, though. :-) And I hope to have my first YA novel available soon.
I'm impressed you managed to find the time to finish a story during the A-Z. Good luck for when you submit it.
DeleteI'm wondering if your new project has something to do with video. Telling a story through a moving medium.
ReplyDeleteYep, there is still storytelling. I can't seem to move away from that aspect. It's in my blood methinks.
DeleteOoo, a msyertious project...what tension:) You must be an author;) My non-writing project is my garden and my son...mostly my son:)
ReplyDeleteHa! There has been a strange rumour going around that I'm an author. Don't listen to everything you hear ;)
DeleteI'm working on a 2-year-old WIP and I've just reached 84,700 words. I want so much to finish this book, but I've stretched my ability and it's quite hard work. Which is good. I like a challenge.
ReplyDelete85k is great, Joylene! Best wishes to you for finishing your project.
DeleteI know what the proooooooject is .... :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteYes you do :)
DeleteI'm not sure you know all the details, though. Something you said sparked me into another direction. Did I share that? Hmmm...
Don't worry about not having been around as much. Focus on the mystery project :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Blue. You know blue is one of my favourite colours?
DeleteWell, I was hoping it would be.
DeleteHugs
Delete:)
DeleteThe project sounds very mysterious. Glad you're embracing it! But don't forget to read, lol!
ReplyDeleteHa, I just finished reading two books.. (one about Tesla, the other about zombies). Now for the other gazillion more I'm in the middle of reading...
DeleteYour mystery project sounds quite intriguing. Can't wait to find out more!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nicole. I'm looking forward to when I can say more :)
Deleteyou can whisper the mystery in my ear...I won't tell...like 2 out of 100 people :)
ReplyDeletewhisper whisper whisper... got that? ;)
