Insecure Writer's Support Group: a comic strip I drew while taking a break from writing and outlining

haha yes, I was going to draw the pulling of the hair but I had limited time and I'm hopeless at drawing hands ;)

ReplyDeleteIt used to be that when I wasn't writing, I was drawing. Then I got into photography (probably because drawing takes almost as much time as writing but taking a photo is quick but just as satisfying).

ReplyDeleteNoooo!! You can catch up. I spent a four day weekend with hubby and I fell behind as well, but yesterday I put my head down and caught up. I surprised myself.
DeleteHi Lynda. Cool comic strip, it made me grin. My public face is pretty much the same as the private; neither face illustrates much confidence and both are pretty frazzled! Fortunately, I'm rarely in public so that helps :)

I've only drawn three comics in my life, this being the third. The first one was done in my teens and it was a silly strip about my brother and his chemistry set. The second one started as a storyboard for an animation. The animation didn't end up happening (I had all sorts of rendering problems with the shadows etc) so I thought I'd simplify it and turn it into a comic strip. I'm still polishing that one and I hope to share it one day.
DeleteSo wish I could draw. This is perfect! I'm doing nano as well (just added you--I'm solstice1974) and I made it 5 days before hitting my first speed bump. Writing the first draft is the hardest for me because I know it's crap. Nano is great for helping me push through it though, so good luck to both of us.
ReplyDeleteHa, I actually find writing the first draft easy precisely because I know it's crap. The crappiness doesn't matter and that gives me a freedom I don't have when I edit. Best of luck with NaNo!!!

ReplyDeleteCute! And I AM a Gemini, so I'm allowed to have a split personality like that. But, yeah, that whole roller coaster ride of emotions is why you have to be tough to be a writer. Otherwise you'd throw up all over the place every time you sat at the keyboard. :P
