Paths

I suppose for the A-Z Challenge I could have picked Photography for today’s post. Instead I chose Paths. I love the less travelled path. I love exploring when there’s no one else around. Below are some photos I took around Australia.

What type of paths are you most drawn to?

Note: For the month of April during the A-Z Challenge I am pausing from my usual blogging theme of writing and social media tips. Instead I hope to share with you my photography. Much of it is inspired by the fabulous and helpful site, The Bookshelf Muse. Please check it out and enjoy.

  1. I'm not reckless, so I like to know at least a couple others have ventured down the trail.
Nice photos, Lynda! Amazing that there are places just like those in your pictures here in America.

  2. I love old Roman Roads that make their way through the South Wales Valleys. I love spotting little snippets of history along these paths.

  3. My love for exploration usually leads to me the roads less traveled as well. They're more peaceful and spiritual.

  6. We drive 40 minutes to Christ Our Hope, our little country church. It's a beautiful drive from north Alabama to middle Tennessee. My favorite spot is where we go downhill through a tunnel of green and around a bluff beside a creek. Beautiful! I'm usually reading, but I always stop to take in the scenery here.

  7. These beautiful photos make me wonder where the paths lead. I like paths that weave through meadows or fields.

  8. My photography loving husband takes lots of photos of paths. I also love the less-traveled path and the times we're able to explore them without seeing another human soul.

  16. Your middle one says motorcycle ride to me, while the last one reminds me of the Appalachian Trail leading to our next night of rest. I love to walk and hike, and even backpack for days on the path less traveled. God bless and thanks for sharing.

  17. This post reminds me of one of my favourite poems, Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken. He talks of meeting a fork in the road and taking the less travelled one, thinking that he'd return to try the other but knowing that he never would. It tugs at a heart string of mine as do those paths in your post. I especially like the third one, lots of trees and mystery.

  19. We do have some pretty paths in the mountains where I live. I love to hike in the fall and spring the best. The colors are amazing.

  23. Great pictures! I know what you mean about the unexplored or least-travelled paths. There are some magical places around this land that feel like they've never been explored before.

  26. It's hard to beat a path through the rainforest, with the canopy of trees shielding you from the hot sun. That delicious coolness, yum...

Great photos, so it sort of is Photography.

  27. I am drawn to paths least taken. cm
But seriously, we have a huge forest a mile away (Chattahoochie National Forest) and inside it is quite beautiful, the sounds, the sights and all.
    A great "P'ost here.

  28. The paths you depict here make me think of that Robert Frost poem, about going on the road less taken. I guess you can say that's the kind of path I'm drawn to.

  29. I'm drawn to paths along the beach or wooded paths along a creek.

  30. I really like these pictures; you could use one of them for a book cover. I like paths with coffeehouses on them. :) (Or maybe that's a sign that Starbucks really has taken control of my mind.)

  31. I love these roads, the top one is calling to me :)
    Big fan of driving trips.

  32. I like ones that are off the beaten track. There might be a few overhanging branches or nettles to contend with, but that's all part of it. It's usually worth it. I've been down paths like this in Australia that ended in a stunning view of a coastline (much like your lovely pictures the day before!)

  33. I love taking pictures of paths like these - deserted and ones which you don't know where exactly they'll lead.

  34. Path's untraveled attract me!

I so enjoy walking trails and paths; there is such adventure there! Never knowing what you will see or meet along the way has some mystery to it and excitment!

I'm usually draw to paths and things that call me toward them!!

    Great photography, Lynda!!
