I know, I'm shallow. But it's true. If a character is called Peter Smith, I just want to cry. My characters remain Mrs. B, Mr. X and Miss Y for a very long time.

I read an interesting IWSG post where the author said she researches geography and culture before settling on a name. Another IWSG participant said that a name needs to also be decade-appropriate, which makes sense if one actually wants to find the best possible name for the character.
I also like the ‘sound’ of a name. But as wonderful as a name ‘sounds’, the aural appeal should ideally be secondary to the appropriateness of the name.Michelle Wallacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02750092836481599870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7030453069845909403.post-40111929318063938172018-06-08T10:36:29.971+10:002018-06-08T10:36:29.971+10:00I completely agree - titles are HARD!I completely agree - titles are HARD!Jemi Fraserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02214408467456320167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7030453069845909403.post-5902501267363541902018-06-08T10:08:47.096+10:002018-06-08T10:08:47.096+10:00What is sleep? What is sleep?Lynda R Young as Elle Cardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09975442291393246148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7030453069845909403.post-63188030806331842482018-06-08T10:08:36.742+10:002018-06-08T10:08:36.742+10:00X works :)
